- Imagine: You and your friends are in a dark, dark place. You are all lost and cannot find your way out because you cannot see. You remember that your mummy had given you a torch light. What would you do with the torch? Would you decide to keep it in your bag? Or hide it in your pocket? Of course not! You would take it out and use it so that you and your friends can see where you are supposed to go.
- Do you know that the world was a very dark place because of sin? Nobody could see anything. Nobody could find their way out. They were lost.
- Then Jesus came into the world. And He was a bright and wonderful light for all the people in the world to show them how to return to Daddy God. Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12)
- When we believe in Jesus, we don’t have to walk in darkness anymore. We just follow Him, and He brings us back to Daddy God.
- And the best thing is, when we accept Jesus into our heart, He lives in us. So His light shines in our life. We are like a lantern, and He is the candle that burns forever. Jesus tells us, “You are the light of the world.” (Matt 5:14)
- Our eyes are the lamp of our body. The more we fix our eyes on Jesus and what He has done for us on the cross, the more light shines out of our lives.
- We can give light to everyone around us. We don’t have to hide this light or cover it.
- We can bring hope, joy, peace and love to all through how we live, what we say and what we do because we are children of light. When people see us, they can see Jesus’ light and praise our Daddy God.
