The Covid-19 pandemic and ensuing movement control order meant that we had to learn new ways of doing church without meeting together physically.
It was a steep learning curve for all of us, church leaders, teachers and kids alike. Initially, there was a lot of doubt about whether we could pull off a weekly video lesson as most of, if not all, the teachers were camera-shy.
Looking back, it has been a refreshing experience as we took a step back from our “regular” classes and learned how to share the truths of God’s grace and love from different perspectives. We had to step out of our comfort zones, navigate new technologies and skill sets, and explore different ways of presenting lessons and engaging the children. There were lots of retakes, trial & errors, head scratching and sometimes tears … :-p
It was heartening to see not just teachers but also many kids rise up to participate in presenting the lessons with much enthusiasm. We believe God is raising up this young generation to do great and mighty things for Him!
We also finally got around to updating our correspondence database to allow us to connect with the kids through offline means also.
By God’s grace and strength, we were able to put together five months of lessons, as well as several presentations, under tNCC Kidz @ Home, and we hope you’ll be blessed by them 🙂
